Under full instruction and supervision you will soon be working your way through the branches and seeing the IOW from a new perspective. There are walks across the adjoining Mottistone Estate. Take the Flowerpot trail and discover the resident flowerpot people. The windmill was built in about 1700 but stopped operating in 1913. There is an I-spy trail for children to do. A short film explains what is involved in milling process. | Built in 1547 by Henry VIII, this is a device fort, part of a chain of coastal defences. Discover what the rooms were used for in the 16th century. Learn about the shipwrecks. Bring your picnic things as this is a lovely picnic spot with views over the Solent. Disabled access is to ground floor only. NOT open daily check schedule. Yarmouth Castle | What is it, a pig or a sheep? This intriguing animal is just one of a number you will see on Fakenham farm. Other animals to see include rheas, emus ducks geese, shetland ponies, ankola cattle, water buffalo and more. Look out for the Fakenham farm fun days, on bank holiday weekends, where there are even more things to do. Fakenham Farm | The Brading Roman Villa was built around 280 AD. Today you can see the remains of the Roman Farmhouse. You can still see mosaic floors in what is one of the finest Romano-British archaeological sites in the UK.
