| The Gnome Reserve and Wildflower Garden comprises woodland, stream 30 yard pond and garden. Home to over 1000 gnomes. Gnome hats and fishing rods loaned free of charge. Open end March to October . The Gnome Reserve and Wildflower Garden | Visitor centre, tea gardens, floating cafe and horse drawn barge at canal basin. The canal towpath, for over 11 miles, has flat easy walks, with various access points. Circular walks possible (check website) Responsible dog walking welcomed. Grand Western Canal | 253 hectares of grassy coastal plain at the mouth of the Taw\Torridge Estuary, with salt marsh, dunes and grassland. Park open to pedestrians at all times. | Watersmeet House is a 19th century fishing lodge that sits where Hoar Oak Water and East Lyn River meet. The fishing lodge is now a National Trust shop, tea room and information point. There are walks to enjoy along the valley and a quiz trail for children. Watersmeet | Find a reconstruction of a celtic roundhouse (usually locked unless being used for an event) near Cookworthy Centre. Cookworthy Forset has many trails and tracks to explore and a permanent orienteering course, you can download maps from website. You can also cycle on all forest roads. | 60 metre high cliffs at the southern tip of Tor Bay. The limestone quarryed in last 300 yrs used for Napoleonic Forts. Quarry now used by wildlife (seabirds to bats). Iron Age forts, Napoleonic forts, modern lighthouse and coastguard station to explore. Berry Head National Nature Reserve | The Geopark has many trails to go on, Geo Cruises and Kents Cavern to explore. The centre hosts tues & thurs afternoon beach activities in summer school holidays. This country park contains over 114 acres of woodland, heathland, grassland, lake and marsh and has a substantial amount of wildlife.
