| Dyrham Park is a late 17th century home, set in a deer park. Famly fun in the Old Lodge play area. There are park trails to follow and park and garden tracker packs are available. Check the events schedule for free guided tours of the park, gardens and nature trail. (normal entrance fee applies). The everyday and extraordinary objects include tiny toys and suits of Samurai Armour. Childrens trail both indoors and around the garden. There are also monthly Snowshill secrets explorer tours. | This is a Regency terraced house where Gustav Holst was born in 1874. Find out about his story behind this composer. See a number of his personal items on display including his piano. Also see the Victorian kitchen and laundry, the elegant Regency drawing room and the Edwardian nursery. Holst Birtplace Museum | During your tour of the castle you will see The Keep (with dungeon), the cell where Edward II was murdered, the Kings Gallery, The Tower Room, the Picture Gallery, the Dining Room, the Great Hall and Armoury and more. Don`t forget to walk round the gardens too and see the lily pond and the butterfly house. Please check opening times. Berkeley Castle | See the Great East Window up close and learn how it was made. There are full or partial guided tours of Cathedral suited to you, so you could see the Crypt, learn about the architechture or see where Harry Potter was filmed. | There are a number of guided walks available to help you explore the city. You can choose from the Gloucester Experience Walk,the Docks Delights Walk or the Gloucester Ghost Walk . The walks are run by Gloucester Civic Trust. Please check website for days, times and prices. Some walks are only during the warmer months but the Ghost walks take place year round. | See a large water wheel powerng historic textile machinery. The wheel was installed in the mill in 1855 nd when you see this impressive sight of the wheel starting to move to a powerful cascaed of water, it brings the wollen industry heritage to life. Opening days and tmes for the Mill is limited, please check schedule. Dunkirk Mill Centre | 19th Century Victorian Woodchester Mansion was myseriously abandoned, mid-construction, in 1873. Visitors are able to walk through this architechtural exhibit and see the work of these medieval gothic builders and stone masons. Check timetable for guided tours, tea room and open times. | The exhibitions explore the history of Sudeley Castle and the prominent characters who have lived in or visited the Castle. Visitors can explore the 16th centurry west wing,, St Mary`s church, the gardens, Pheasantry, medieval ruins and adventure playground. Guided tours avalable on selected weekdays. Sudeley Castle and Gardens | Belas Knap is a very good example of a Neolithic Long Barrow. It contains a false entrance and side chambers. This is a burial chamber probably constructed in about 3000 B.C. During excavations in 1863-1865 the remains of 31 people were found inside. It is open at any reasonable time and entrance is free. Belas Knap | The abbey was founded in 1246 and was dissolved in 1539. Here you will find the ruins of a 13th century Cistercian abbey, that once had extensive and elaborate buildings. Information panels guide you around the abbey buildings. The museum displays sculptures, stonework and other finds. Open daily Apr-Oct. Hailes Abbey | ||||
