  Vivary park has a green flag award. The tennis courts at the southern end of the park can be used free of charge. There are 2 childrens play areas, a model railway, boating lake and a cafè. There is a pay and play golf course and mini golf. The bowling green is also open to the public. Vivary Park   The new grotto and water garden is planted for year round colour. There is a small train to take you round the lakes and gardens. Refreshments available at the Hamilton Tea Rooms. Larger animals are now gone, you may see meerkats, a lemur or deer. Tel: 01460 30111 Cricket St Thomas Lakes and Gardens   Tuition is available for watersports. Visitors can also launch their own craft or hire from the centre. There are miles of lake footpaths including a 9 mile round lake walk. Trout fishery offers tuition days for beginners. Tea room is open Apr-Oct. Pay & Display parking.   Woodland Gardens and meadows to wander through. See a folly and the boathouse. There is a walks leaflet available at the visitor centre to help you navigate the nature trail. Learn about Andrew Crosse the pioneer 19th century electrician. Free entry. Fyne Court   See Gough`s cave with the aid of an audio guide, that contains stalactites and stalagmites. Visit Cox`s cave and the crystal quest There is a museum of pre-history. Children can try their hand at Cave painting. Climb the lookout tower or ride on the open top bus. Cheddar Caves and Gorge   Hestercombe is a collection of 3 different gardens. You can walk through the gradens or stop at the coffee shop, stables restaurant or garden shop. Visit the Bat Roost with viewing room. There is also a childrens playground next to the picnic area. Hestercombe Gardens

  Moorlands, woodlands, dramatic cliffs, picturesque villages and farms. At Dunkery beacon you can see great views and maybe a red deer or Exmoor pony. Visit Horner Wood, Bossington Beach or the charming Selworthy village and maybe stop at the tea shop (above). Holnicote Estate   Visitors are welcome to walk around and look at the old cider making and farming equipment. Entry is free to the Museum housed in the 16th century thatched barn. There are video and photographs as well as old implements displayed. Tea room on site. Perry`s Farmhouse Cider and Rural Museum   This centre has exhibitions about the heritage of Dulverton and importance of the surrounding woodland. There is also an art gallery and a library. You can watch a video about the National Park. A leaflet is available which details a self guided walk around Dulverton. Exmoor National Park Visitor Centre

  Designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. See the map of the multitude of different places to go incl. Kings Wood, Shute Shelve Hill, The Perch, Deer Leap, Cheddar Gorge and many more. Many places to walk or cycle. The Mendips   Chard Resrvoir is situated about a mile from Chard. There are marked trails to follow. Walk on the board walk and visit the bird hide. There are information boards displaying information about the Nature Reserves wildlife. Chard Reservoir Nature Resrvoir   Barrington Court is a Tudor Manor House with formal gardens to navigate on the family trail. Also visit the Manor House where there is a childrens trail. Fresh produce from stone-walled garden is used in the restaurant. Check opening times on website. Only assistance dogs allowed in garden. Barrington Court

  Ham Hill country park covers 390 acres giving plenty of hilly landscape and woodland to explore. You will also find an iron age hill fort and some interesting old quarry areas. There is a picnic area and a permanent orienteering course. A large free car parking are is on site. Ham Hill Country Park   Yeovil Country Park includes Ninesprings, Penn Hill Park, Summerhouse Hill and Riverside Walk. You will find rivers, a lake, waterfalls, grassland, woodland and a childrens play area. Wildlife includes bats, water voles, kingfishers, green woodpeckers and swans. Dogs are welcome except nr. lake . Yeovil Country Park   This Nature Reserve in the Mendips consists of alot of woodlands and limestone outcrops. A number of small caves can be found where the bones of Neolithic people have been discovered (Now in Wells Museum) Three different trails of varying lengths available.   Langport and River Parrett Visitor Centre contains information on places to go in the area and and also a discovery room. Cycle hire is also available from here. Possibilities for fishing, walking and cycling in the falt open landscape surrounding the centre. Langport and River Parrett Visitor Centre   Guided tour are available around part of the historic tudor house and gardens. Explore the 500 acre estate, where you may see fallow deer, birds and other wildlife along the woodland paths. There is also a herb garden and a peacock house. Tel: 01984 656284   Pick up a leaflet from the Maunsel Canal Centre, which gives you all the facts and figures of the space walk. Start at Maunsel Lock and walk in either direction along the tow path and visit each planet in its orbit. There is a cafe at the Canal Centre for cream teas on the lawn overlooking the lock.
